The “Sprintours” Travel group in association with the Tunisian National Tourism Board (ONTT) and the national flag carrier Tunisair held on Saturday in Sousse a promotional event targeting the Italian tourist market.
Around 300 Italian travel agents, as well as Tunisian and Italian journalists took part in the event.
On this occasion, a press conference was held, during which Mr. Mustapha Nasri, the Tunisian National Tourism Board (ONTT) representative in Italy said that the flow of Italian tourists to Tunisia is expected to increase in 2010 following a 13% decrease in 2009 as a result of the global economic crisis.
He also emphasized the role of the “Enfidha Zine El Abidine Ben Ali” international airport which is located between two main tourist poles in Tunisia (Hammamet and Sousse) and which can contribute to increase the Italian tourist flow to Tunisia
Accordingly, he stressed the Tunisian National Tourism Board’s) efforts to diversify the tourist product, by relying more on Saharan, sports, cultural and spa tourism.
On his part, Mr. Jalel Jebara Director General of “Sprintours” travel group, said that the situation of the tourism market should improve this year after confirmation of earlier bookings.
