VisitBritain, in association with Tourism Ireland, will be hosting their flagship business-to-business travel trade event, Destination Britain & Ireland (DEBI) in Dubai for the first time.
DEBI is VisitBritain’s biggest trade event of its kind in the Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa region (APMEA), with more than 200 key companies and travel industry specialists signed up to attend the three day event , and to showcase the latest travel and tourism offerings from the UK and Ireland.
DEBI is an annual one-stop-shop opportunity for key wholesalers and decision-makers in the APMEA travel industry to meet with a wide variety of tourism product suppliers from the UK and Ireland, and will take place from 10 May till 13 May, at The Grand Hyatt Hotel.
Emirates Airlines is working closely with VisitBritain and Tourism Ireland on this event, and will be the official airline carrier at DEBI 2010.
The Dubai event will be DEBI’s seventh year in the region, with each year seeing it move from strength to strength, increasing in success annually as a prestigious networking and business gathering. Each year, DEBI takes place in a different country, and this year, VisitBritain is delighted to be hosting it in Dubai, UAE.
“Holding the event in Dubai is a perfect fit, especially since Dubai is both, a dynamic international business hub, as well as a top tourist destination” said Carol Maddison, UAE Marketing Manager, VisitBritain. “DEBI has been solidified as a key travel industry event throughout APMEA region, especially as it provides an unsurpassed networking platform for key UK trade partners in the region. This year will see more than 60 UK and Irish tourism products being showcased to buyers from over 17 countries, including Australia, China, Singapore and the UAE.” Maddison continued.
