The Airports Council International (ACI) Europe awarded on Monday an airport in south of Turkey as the best airport in Europe in regard to passenger category.

This year’s ACI Europe award in the “10-25 million passenger” category went to ICF Antalya Airport. Antalya had won this award because the airport had the best quality, security and social responsibility performance, ICF Airports Antalya Airport Director General Alexander Laukenmann said during a ceremony at the airport.

Antalya Airport hosted 10 million passengers in the first half of 2011, including 2,131,000 domestic and 7,771,000 international passengers. ACI EUROPE counts around 400 airports in 46 European countries among its membership.
