A multinational consortium, in which Turkish construction firm Enka owns a 38.4 percent share, signed a contract to build the new terminal building at Muscat International Airport.

In October 2010, Oman awarded the construction of a US$1.8 billion project to build the new terminal building of the airport to a joint venture of United States engineering firm Bechtel, Turkish construction firm Enka and local company Bahwan Contracting.

In a statement sent to Istanbul Stock Exchange, Enka said that the contract has been approved by Oman’s authorities on Wednesday.

Enka said the project will be completed in 38 months.
