The Association of British Hujjaj (pilgrims), a National Hajj specific organisation in the UK expresses its deepest sorrow and sadness at the death of 12 prospective Umrah pilgrims. The bus which was carrying these pilgrims was involved in a tragic road accident en-route from Egypt to Makkah .
“We are all shocked and extremely saddened by this tragic incident and on behalf of the British Muslim Community we would like to convey our heartfelt sorrow and condolence to the families of those pilgrims who have lost their loved ones” said Khalid Pervez, General Secretary of the Association of British Hujjaj (pilgrims) UK.
He also strongly urged that “the Egyptian authorities should take stringent measures to prevent this sort of tragedy occurring again. Every effort should be made to help and protect Hajj/Umrah Pilgrims from hardship, difficulties and prevent loss of innocent human lives. The Association of British Hujjaj (Pilgrims) UK also stresses that the families and relatives of the deceased pilgrims must get all the appropriate help and support at this difficult time”.
