The Radisson Blu Resort Sharjah participated in the Pastry & Baking Salon 2011 Live Baking Competition which was held in Zabeel Hall in Dubai from 27 February till 02 March 2011.

The Pastry & Baking Salon organized this competition which is open to all pastry chefs and bakers working in the UAE and GCC to compete in static display and live baking across twelve categories. The twelve mouth-watering competition categories includes Morning Goods & Danish Pastries, Strudel Championship, Speed Piping & Bake-Off Challenge, Croissants Challenge – Classical & Filled, Biscuits, Tea Cakes & Rusks, Artisan Bread, Fine Patisserie & Bistro Cakes, Petit Fours and Frandise, Diabetic Friendly Muffins & Brioche Challenge, Sugar Art Challenge, Pralines & Truffles Challenge, and Chocolate Art & Garnishes Challenge.

The Radisson Blu Resort Sharjah is proud to have two of their most outstanding employees Assistant Pastry Chef Salinda Siriwardana who won two (2) Bronze medals for the Pastry Show piece and Wedding Cake Competition and Chef D’Partie Dinushi Nemasha Ekanayaka who won one (1) Silver medal for the Wedding Cake Competition, one (1) Bronze medal for the Four Plated Dessert, and Merit Certificate for the Live Cake Decoration.
