The 53rd ICCA Congress will be held in Antalya, Turkey, in the first week of November of 2014.

Istanbul Convention & Visitors Bureau (ICVB), an active member of ICCA, shared their expertise with Antalya Convention Bureau to bring the ICCA 2014 Congress to Antalya. ICVB was a vital member of ICCA Antalya Local Hosting Committee and joined the ICCA Board presentations on May 21 in Frankfurt before IMEX.

On May 21, Antalya delegation comprise of Levent Demirel, Deputy General Director Ministry of Culture and Tourism – Directorate General for Promotion, ICVB General Manager Elif Balcı Fisunoglu, ATAV President Nizamettin Şen, Antalya Convention Bureau General Manager Nurhan Erdem Tanır, and Kenes Turkey Managing Director Sadık Çağlar made a successful presentation to ICCA Board of Directors.

The 53rd ICCA Congress is expected to bring together approximately 1,000 senior level professionals from the meetings industry for top quality networking, high-level education, exchange of business and tailor-made expert advice.

The ICCA Board’s decision was made at the IMEX 2011 exhibition in Frankfurt and was revealed on the last day of the show. The other finalists in the bidding competition were Houston, TX, U.S.A. and Monterrey, Mexico.

Martin Sirk ICCA CEO said: “Each year the standard of bids for the ICCA Congress gets higher and higher, with exceptionally creative ideas and teamwork.  Passing on the bad news to the unsuccessful candidates is probably the worst part of my job, since I know how much passion, hard work and inspiration went into creating the bids of Houston, Texas and Monterrey, Mexico.  I know that both destinations will continue to enjoy tremendous success in the international meetings market.  As for Antalya and the whole Turkish team, I offer my congratulations on a fantastic effort.”
