Sharjah attracted considerable interest and attention at the prestigious World Travel Market 2011 held in London, from 7 to 10 November, 2011.  The emirate put up an impressive show at the London event with huge crowds visiting Sharjah’s grand, eye-catching stand to know more about the emirate and exciting tourism options it offers.

The Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority headed a large delegation of senior Sharjah government officials and representatives of the tourism sector to the London exhibition as part of its efforts to promote Sharjah around the world and boost the tourism industry in the emirate.  SCTDA Chairman Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qassimi, who led the high profile Sharjah delegation, received top dignitaries, members of the media and leading players of the global travel and tourism industry at the Sharjah stand.

Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qassimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority has emphasised the importance of achieving competitive tourism growth in the country that celebrates the diversity of the UAE tourism.  “As a tourism market, the UAE is unique as each emirate varies from one another in what they offer to tourists even as they contribute to creating an integrated tourism environment in the country and supporting the growth process,” he said.

Al Qassimi made the remarks after receiving the UAE’s Ambassador to the UK, HE Abdulrahman Ghanem Almutaiwee, at Sharjah’s stand at the World Travel Market 2011 exhibition in London in the presence of Saeed Obaid Al Jarwan, Deputy Chairman of SCTDA Board of Directors and Second Deputy Chairman of SCCO Board of Directors, SCTDA Director General Mohamed A. Al Noman, Ali Salem Al-Mahmoud, Board Member of SCTDA and Chairman of the Sharjah Economic Development Department.
