DUKES LONDON, a five-star boutique hotel owned and managed by Dubai -based hospitality and real estate investment company Seven Tides, has won the World’s Ultimate Service Award in Hospitality at the recent World Travel Awards 2012 ceremony held in Doha in Qatar.
DUKES LONDON is a five-star boutique hotel set in a neat cobbled courtyard in the heart of London’s chic St. James’ district, minutes from Mayfair and has been delivering definitive service for over 100 years to its 102 elegant guestrooms and suites.
“Being recognised at an internationally-renowned awards ceremony is praise indeed and the fact that the global awards finale was being held in Qatar was wholly appropriate considering DUKES LONDON is owned and managed by Dubai-based hospitality company Seven Tides,” said Debrah Dhugga, General Manager of DUKES LONDON.
Further to the undoubted success of DUKES LONDON as a unique hotel brand, Seven Tides is now in the process of developing the DUKES COLLECTION, with all of the quality hallmarks of traditional five-star service, combined with a luxurious bijou product, specifically designed as a management brand for boutique-style properties.
Michael Scully, Managing Director Hospitality at Seven Tides commented: “This award could not have come at a better time. The DUKES COLLECTION will carve a niche in the hotel market – it will be the first management brand dedicated to luxury, boutique-style hotels. We see great potential throughout the Middle East.”
Speaking about the attributes of the DUKES COLLECTION, Scully added, “Each hotel will be individual, but common standards of excellence will prevail. Apart from quality of service and product, other standards will include bathroom amenities, towels and linen. Depending on the location, a Martini bar, a Champagne lounge and a cigar garden, are all part of the DUKES COLLECTION signature.
Nominations for the World Travel Awards 2012 featured more than 5,000 companies in 1,000 categories across 162 countries. Some of the categories included the worlds leading airline, the worlds leading destination and the worlds leading cruise line with the winners being selected by more than 210,000 industry professional and consumers worldwide.
To win the award, DUKES LONDON was inspected by an anonymous group of industry experts, on a number of occasions, looking closely at quality of service, standards, guest satisfaction, product innovation and business acumen.
The award comes just four months after DUKES LONDON was voted England’s Leading Boutique Hotel at last year’s World Travel Awards held in Antalya in Turkey.
Earlier in January the hotel also strengthened its marketing position by joining Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH).
“Small Luxury Hotels of the World is a group of prestigious hotels that fits our brand positioning perfectly,” commented Dhugga.
The Small Luxury Hotels of the World brand is an unrivalled portfolio comprising over 520 of the world’s finest small independent hotels in more than 70 countries.
