The hotel will join the signature Marriott Hotels & Resorts brand and will be Marriott International’s seventh hotel in Istanbul. Located on the European side of Istanbul, the hotel is under construction and expected to open in late 2013.
The announcement follows a number of recent hotel openings for Marriott International in Turkey, including the JW Marriott Ankara Hotel and Renaissance Istanbul Bosphorus Hotel, and will be Marriott’s tenth hotel in the country.
“We are thrilled to announce this exciting new addition to our fast-growing portfolio of hotels throughout Turkey,” said Amy McPherson, president and managing director of Marriott International in Europe. “Istanbul, with its wealth of culture and history, is one of the most sought after destinations in Europe and we are excited to add to our signature Marriott Hotels & Resorts portfolio here. The huge demand for Turkey as both a business and leisure destination means it will continue to be of significant strategic importance as we grow throughout Europe.”
Located between the business districts of Levent and Taksim, Sisli is an ideal base for business travellers while still being close to Istanbul’s cultural and historic sites and served by excellent transport links. Already a key commercial district and hub for shopping and trade, the area is going through a further regeneration with office space in the district expected to multiply significantly in coming years.
The Marriott Sisli Hotel will be located in the top floors of a striking 35-story tower, providing stunning views across the city towards the Bosphorus. Boasting 254 rooms designed by the well-known Turkish interior designers Uras & Dilekci, guests will be able to enjoy the hotel’s extensive leisure facilities, including fitness room, spa, indoor pool and outdoor tennis court. The numerous public spaces including lobby lounge & bar, casual restaurant, juice bar and café provide opportunities to meet, work or relax.
With an executive lounge, business centre, seven meeting rooms and a ballroom spread across 1494 square metres, the hotel will expertly cater for business travellers and all manner of events and should prove popular with the MICE market.
