In honour of this new aircraft, a ceremony was held at Manas Airport with representatives from Pegasus Airlines, Pegasus Asia and Air Manas.
At the ceremony Pegasus Airlines General Manager Sertac Haybat said: “Pegasus Asia, which launched its Istanbul-Bishkek flights on 21 March of this year, has grown considerably in those eight months. With Pegasus Asia’s first-ever flight, we took a step towards Bishkek becoming a hub for Central Asia by making it a meeting-point between Europe, the Middle East, Russia and the Far East. In line with this aim of ours, we have carried 59,000 guests on these daily flights in the last eight months. With the competition we created in the region with these Istanbul-Bishkek flights, we were able to cut the cost of these flights by 60%. As Pegasus Airlines, we’re continuing to make it everyone’s right to fly, even in regions of the world beyond Turkey.”
The new Boeing 737-400, with a tailfin ID of TC-APD, brings Pegasus Asia’s fleet to two aircraft while at the same time expanding its team of staff. In the short space of eight months, the Pegasus Asia Family has grown to a total of 100 members: 4 pilots, 6 assistant pilots, 52 cabin crew and 38 technician.
Pegasus Asia’s new aircraft will be used for flights within Kyrgyzstan to Osh and outside of Kyrgyzstan to Dubai, Russia’s Moscow, Cheylabinsk, Perm, Surgut and Krasnoyarsk, and Tajikistan’s Dushanbe and China’s Urumchi.
