The World Tourism Market 2013, being held from November 4 to 7 in the British capital, has seen a great deal of international attention focused on Sharjah being celebrated as the Cultural Capital of the Islamic World by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in 2014 with a number of dignitaries and tourism industry leaders visiting the Sharjah pavilion.
On day three of the exhibition in London, HE Mohamed Ali Al Noman, Chairman, Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority received a delegation of Oman’s tourism industry led by HE Ahmed Bin Nasser Al Mahrizi, Minister of Tourism. Al Noman briefed Al Mahrizi and the accompanying delegation on the latest developments and projects in Sharjah’s tourism industry.
The two sides discussed mutual cooperation and exchange of expertise in tourism sector and upcoming celebrations marking Sharjah’s selection as the Capital of Islamic Culture. Speaking on the occasion, Al Noman said the Authority is sparing no efforts to draw attention to the special events and series of activities lined up in the Emirate next year to celebrate the selection of Sharjah as the Capital of Islamic Culture by the OIC nations, said Al Noman.
