Millennium & Copthorne Hotels Middle East and Africa (MEA), one of the region’s fastest-growing hotel groups, has announced the appointment of Syrian-national Mustafa Al Jundi and German Sebastian Goy, to the roles of director of sales and marketing at Millennium Mussanah and director of sales at Millennium Abu Dhabi respectively.

These appointments come at a time when the Group continues to lay the foundations for its ambitious expansion plans of managing 50 properties across the region within the next three years.

Al Jundi started working in the tourism industry in Syria before embarking on a career in sales and marketing in some of the leading hotel brands in the GCC including Hilton and Rosewood. Al Jundi brings over 20 years’ experience in the tourism, leisure and hospitality market to his new role of sales and marketing director for Millennium Hotel Mussanah.

Goy, having built up a fine pedigree of experience in Germany, has held a number of key roles in the UAE, most recently at Dusit Thani. Goy’s strong background in the European hospitality industry paired with senior sales positions in Dubai will complement his appointment as director of sales for Millennium Hotel Abu Dhabi.

“These latest additions to the team mark our commitment and dedication to enhance our presence by developing one of the leading hotel groups in the region. In order to do this we want to ensure we have the best human capital and in Mustafa and Sebastian we have two consummate industry professionals,” said Naeem Darkazally, Vice President of sales and marketing for Millennium and Copthorne Middle East & Africa.

Both men join their respective teams at a busy period for the company with an additional 10 hotels opening across the region in the next 12 to 18 months in UAE, Kuwait, and Muscat. As part of wider expansion plans the Hotel and Resort group will develop 50 properties throughout the region by 2017. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will also see 20 hotels open in the coming years.
