Jumeirah Restaurant Group Dubai has officially opened a new casual dining restaurant offering the best of north Indian cuisine. To mark the opening, a special 25% discount on food will be offered to all diners until 15 April.

Set within the luxurious surroundings of Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Naya, the new Indian restaurant, offers rustic, home-cooked and down-to-earth Indian food in a relaxed and family friendly environment. Head Chef Pravish Shetty designed the menu and was inspired by authentic recipes collected over the years from his friends and family in India. The result is a blend of classic and contemporary dishes.

Head Chef Pravish Shetty, said: “I use authentic flavours for each and every one of my creations which all have their own twist, to give that wow factor. I created my own recipe for the dal and yellow dal which has a lovely aroma and flavour without being overpowering. The inspiration for the lobster dish was taken from Kolkata in west Bengal known for its seafood and use of mustard and potatoes – seafood enthusiasts will not be disappointed.”

The restaurant has a new interior and offers a contemporary approach to the cuisine and service philosophy. For starters, diners can choose from a selection of samosas including tangy prawn and Punjabi or popular savory snacks known as chaat, traditionally found at road-side stalls across India. Chef Shetty has created his own interpretation of the dahi puri chaat and papdi chaat to enable diners to enjoy traditional Indian delicacies in the five-star surroundings of Naya. Mains include kebabs and barbecue dishes cooked to perfection in clay ovens, seafood and fish dishes from the Bengali region of India, vegetarian options, traditional home-style curries, biryani, pulao, roti, tadka dal, dal makhni and freshly baked naan breads.

To complement the dishes, the beverage menu offers a selection of Indian inspired drinks including the mojito chaat cocktail, the sassy lassi, saffron iced tea, bottles of Indian hops and grape from around the world.
