The development of the hotel sector continued to gather momentum in the first quarter, with new openings and the announcement that Dubai is set to become the home of the first Legoland Hotel in the Middle East.
The hotel, a joint venture between Dubai-based leisure and entertainment company DXB Entertainments PJSC and Merlin Entertainments Group, will be the seventh Legoland Hotel in the world. It will include 250 themed rooms tailored to suit fans’ different tastes and will include Lego models allowing guests to make memorable adventures. The hotel will be built over an area of 300,000 square feet and will be located in Dubai Parks and Resorts, the Middle East’s largest integrated theme park. Dubai Parks and Resorts includes Bollywood Parks, Motiongate Dubai and Legoland Dubai, which has more than 40 rides and attractions, and Legoland Water Park, which has 20 slides.
Raed Kajoor Al Nuaimi, Chief Executive Officer of DXB Entertainments, said: “The addition of a Lego themed hotel at Dubai Parks and Resorts will bring the total hospitality offering at the destination to over 750 rooms. The Legoland Hotel will contribute to making Dubai an ultimate family destination and theme park capital of the world.
Meanwhile, Address Hotels & Resorts, the flagship luxury hotel brand of home-grown hotel operator Emaar Hospitality Group, has opened the Address Boulevard, a city lifestyle resort. The hotel has 196 spacious rooms including 116 deluxe rooms, 44 deluxe club rooms, 28 one-bedroom suites, seven twobedroom suites and a luxurious presidential suite. It also includes 532 serviced apartments including duplexes and two penthouses with views of Burj Khalifa.
